I think at one point there might have been discussions about something like this, but it just didn’t work because Bungie no longer owns the intellectual property for Halo. It just doesn’t make sense to me that they are hiding a wide range of Halo-themed items that could potentially sell people the set just for… fun? While I think the Anniversary Event may have some secret stuff, I just can’t believe Bungie is keeping a whole collection of Halo items under wraps.
And I mean, basically, why hide this? Bungie is trying to sell $ 25 anniversary packs and $ 100 Witch Queen packs.Many have noted that there are tiny pieces of the Bungie streetwear adornment set like the Needler Shoulders and Referee’s Gauntlet that appear in the armor, so this may be the “compromise” if they don’t. Plus, it’s not like we’re 100% missing out on Halo nods.It would be an odd time for a big Halo crossover. They literally leave the service the day this event goes live.
Xbox and Bungie seem to be on slightly odd terms lately, with Witch Queen not launching on Game Pass and all three expansions not renewing a Game Pass deal with Microsoft. Granted, I heard this some time ago and it’s not impossible things could have changed since, but with my journalist hat on, this is only the last information I have. What I heard was that even though at one point there were concepts for the Halo crossover items, that deal was ultimately never made with 343. But a lot of it, like the pastebin leak, was based on pretty old information, and we’ve already seen some things change about these leaks as plans have changed. Others say weapons like the CE Magnum, Battle Rifle, or Gravity Hammer could appear legendary or exotic. 
Some are wild and already refuted, like the concept that the birthday dungeon was going to take place on a Halo Ring (unless we dive into some sort of wormhold Nine hidden in the Loot Cave in the Halo universe). The theory is that it could be a Master Chief helmet.

We haven’t seen what is billed as a “single helmet ornament” with the paid event pass, and we never see any ornaments without full sets outside of the Exotics. The Nine involved in these two activities open the door to the idea that they can break down the fourth wall and collect “treasures from other places and times” or something like that, a real explanation of the tradition as to why things of Halo, Myth and Marathon are offered as rewards. The free activity promises “iconic collectible weapons,” but that doesn’t say they necessarily come from Destiny. It is believed that these will be dungeon rewards, which means the dungeon probably still needs more weapons, and the free six-player activity has no all rewards yet revealed, from what I can tell, other than maybe what it is: We know of the return of Eyasluna and 1000 Yard Stare from Destiny 1, as well as a Marathon Shotgun and Myth Claymore. I mean first and most obviously, why Halo not to be in a crossover involving 30 years of Bungie history? We have Marathon and Myth references, but none for Halo, their most iconic series? More on this angle later.
